Mya Mier Luna is the Executive Director of Beyond House, a sustainability-focused nonprofit based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since January 2023, she has led efforts to reshape how large scale events from music festivals to city wide gatherings manage resources and reduce waste. Under her leadership, Beyond House partners with event organizers, municipalities, and community organizations to minimize single use materials, recover camping gear, and create reuse programs that support outdoor education, mutual aid, and underserved communities.
Her career reflects a consistent commitment to operational excellence, environmental responsibility, and social impact. Before joining Beyond House, Mya served as Office Manager at San Diego Chiropractic Wellness, where she oversaw clinic operations, compliance, and patient support systems that improved efficiency and care quality. She also managed social media strategy for the Extraordinary Lives Foundation, developing integrated campaigns that expanded public engagement and strengthened the organization’s digital presence.
Mya’s early work in community engagement began through internships with PBS SoCal, National University, and John F. Kennedy University, where she coordinated events, supported volunteers, and collaborated with educators and civic leaders. Her experience at PBS SoCal in particular inspired her dedication to helping communities access information and opportunities, motivating her ongoing work to connect individuals with local education, sustainability, and workforce resources.
Today, Mya Mier Luna continues to advance Beyond House’s mission at the intersection of environmental sustainability and social equity, empowering communities to build a culture of awareness, reuse, and shared responsibility.
