HR Executive Compliance Council, Inc. ("HR Executive Compliance Council," "we," "us," or "our") is a California nonprofit mutual benefit corporation. We respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through our website at hrexcc.com, how we use and disclose it, and the choices and rights you have. Last Updated: July 12, 2026.
This is a membership-association website hosted on the Wix platform. We are not a retail store and do not operate physical stores. We collect information to administer our membership program, register attendees for webinars and events, process payments, respond to inquiries, and communicate with members and the public.
This policy is provided for general informational and educational purposes and is not legal advice.
At or before the point of collection, we want you to know the categories of personal information we collect and why. In the past 12 months we have collected the following categories of personal information (as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA):
Identifiers — name, email address, postal address, phone number, account username, and IP address.
Customer records and financial information — payment information you provide to purchase a membership or event (processed by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers).
Commercial information — memberships and event registrations purchased.
Internet or network activity — how you interact with our website, pages viewed, and similar analytics data collected through cookies and similar technologies.
Geolocation data — approximate location derived from your IP address.
Professional or employment information — job title, employer, and professional background you choose to provide.
Inferences — limited preferences we draw to improve our services and communications.
We use this information to provide and administer memberships and member benefits; register and manage event and webinar attendance; process payments; respond to inquiries and provide support; send administrative and (with your consent) marketing communications; operate, secure, and improve our website; and comply with law.
We retain each category of personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes and to meet legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations, after which we delete or de-identify it.
Sensitive personal information: The only sensitive personal information we collect is your account log-in credentials, which we use solely to provide and secure your member account. We do not sell or share sensitive personal information, and we do not use it for purposes that would trigger a right to limit beyond providing our services.
We collect personal information directly from you (for example, when you become a member, register for an event, contact us, or subscribe to emails); automatically from your device (through cookies and similar technologies); and from our service providers who help us operate the website and process payments.
We disclose personal information to service providers and contractors who perform services for us, including: our website and hosting platform (Wix); our payment processor (Wix Payments); analytics and security providers, including Google Tag Manager and Google reCAPTCHA; and our email and communication providers. We require these providers to protect personal information and use it only to provide services to us.
We may also disclose personal information to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect our rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, sale, or reorganization.
Google reCAPTCHA and Google Tag Manager: Our site uses Google reCAPTCHA to protect against spam and abuse and Google Tag Manager to manage analytics and marketing tags. These tools may collect device and usage data that is processed by Google under Google’s Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and Terms. Your use of reCAPTCHA is also subject to Google’s privacy policy and terms of service.
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, our use of analytics and advertising cookies to understand visitors and support marketing may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" (for cross-context behavioral advertising) under California law. You can opt out at any time using the "Your Privacy Choices — Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in our website footer and through our cookie-consent banner.
In the preceding 12 months: (a) we collected the categories listed under Notice at Collection; (b) we disclosed identifiers, customer records, commercial information, internet or network activity, geolocation, and professional information to the service providers listed above for business purposes; and (c) internet or network activity (online identifiers and usage) may have been "shared" for cross-context behavioral advertising via analytics and advertising cookies. We do not sell or share sensitive personal information, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
Subject to legal limits and exceptions, California residents have the right to:
Know and access — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose it.
Delete — request deletion of personal information we collected from you.
Correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
Opt out of sale or sharing — direct us not to sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Limit sensitive personal information — direct us to limit use of sensitive personal information to permitted purposes (as noted, we already limit use of your log-in credentials to providing your account).
Non-discrimination — we will not deny services, charge different prices, or otherwise discriminate or retaliate against you for exercising these rights.
You may submit a privacy rights request by either of these two methods:
Email us at info@hrexcc.com with the subject line "Privacy Request"; or
Use the "Your Privacy Choices — Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in our website footer to submit an opt-out and manage your cookie and consent choices.
We will acknowledge your request and respond within 45 days. Where reasonably necessary, we may extend this period by an additional 45 days and will notify you. To protect your privacy, we will verify your identity before fulfilling a request to know, delete, or correct — generally by confirming information such as your name and the email address we have on file. No verification is required to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
Opt-out preference signals (Global Privacy Control): Where supported by our cookie-consent tool, we treat an opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) sent by your browser as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for that browser or device.
You may use an authorized agent to submit a privacy request. We may require the agent to provide proof that you gave them signed permission to act on your behalf, and we may require you to verify your identity directly with us and confirm the authorization, except where you have provided the agent with a valid power of attorney.
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions, security (including Google reCAPTCHA), analytics, and marketing. When you first visit, our cookie-consent banner (powered by Usercentrics for Wix) lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies by category.
Visitors in the EU and UK are asked to opt in before non-essential cookies are set. Visitors in California and other U.S. states can opt out of analytics and advertising cookies. You can change your choices at any time by reopening the consent tool from the banner or the "Your Privacy Choices" link in the footer. For details of the specific technologies used, see our Cookie Declaration in the Disclosures section.
Our website is intended for HR and compliance professionals and is not directed to children. Consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect, sell, or share the personal information of anyone under 16 years of age.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@hrexcc.com and we will delete it.
Marketing emails we send include a valid physical postal address and a working unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time using that link or by emailing info@hrexcc.com, and we will honor opt-outs promptly. We may still send you non-marketing, transactional messages, such as membership or payment notices. If you are a registered member, you can also manage your email preferences in your member account.
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and access controls that limit access to those who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your account log-in credentials confidential.
Our website may link to third-party websites and services that have their own privacy practices. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites, and we are not responsible for their content or practices. Please review the privacy policy of any third-party site before providing personal information.
